We have been praying and talking with other ministries regarding ministry to children during this season, and we are working to reopen Kids Town as soon as possible. The summer is always a bit more difficult with vacations and other things going on to have enough workers for Kids Town. In addition, we do not have our volunteers from Lee during the summertime, since most of them go home for the summer break.
As of right now, we do not have enough workers, particularly for nursery and preschool, to reopen. Due to COVID-19, there are some families that normally serve still worshiping from home. Even with some of our workers doubling up, we are still short 5 monthly workers to be able to reopen. We realize it is difficult for some of you who have small children to attend on Sunday without childcare, and we are working to make Kids Town available to you once again. We invite parents and others interested in serving to come be a part of our children’s ministry and serve once a month. If you are interested in more information about Kids Town or would like to join our team, see Pastor Gaye Sunday after service or comment on our online connect card!
We are committed to providing a safe environment for our kids, and we will not reopen so until we can do so safely, and with adequate supervision. We are grateful to all of you who are willing to serve! We will update you with a date for reopening Kids Town as soon as possible.
