Going All In, by Lee Cox

The phrase “going all in” is not an easy phrase to apply to our lives, but it is something that God is calls us to do. Right now in my life, I face this more than ever before; God is calling me to go all in even more. What does this mean, you may ask? I am reminded on a daily basis that God is leading me and sending me out as a fisher of men. I am determined to follow God wherever He is leading me, in every direction that God gives. When Jesus met his first disciples, they were working their normal jobs: fishing. Jesus said to them, “Come, follow me and I will send you out to fish for people.” (Matthew 4:19 NIV) Right then and there, they decided that they were going to be all in and even quit the family business and follow someone just because of a conversation they had, trusting that Jesus will fulfill His claim to them.

This notion of going all in takes full abandonment of what we want to do, think we need to do, and even sometimes what we enjoy doing. When going all in, we stop making the plans and we start asking, “What are the plans that God has for us?”(Jeremiah 29:11-14).

Will you join me in going all in—in saying “yes” to wherever God leads? All of His plans for us are good, so we can trust in Him, just as the disciples did, and step out in faith, saying, “Where you lead, I will follow.”
