Class Instructors

Jim Veenstra is the high School Theatre Arts Instructor at East Hamilton High school where he has most recently directed Steel Magnolias, Annie, and Grease. He is a gifted director of more than a hundred productions for church, community and education. For the Ocoee Players Community Theatre, he directed such plays as, The Hobbit, House at Pooh Corners, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. His education includes, Teacher Certification in Speech and Theatre, the Masters in Theatre Education, and the Master of Fine Arts in Directing. He has worked professionally and in amateur theatre. He has taught as an Elementary School Theatre Consultant in Arts Integration, Middle/High School, and college. He is skilled in teaching voice, mime, stage combat, characterization, and all aspects of play production. The purpose of a theatre Arts class is to develop confident, creative, communicators, not only on-stage, but in every situation.
